HBO’s upcoming British import Sally4Ever swims in gender fluid tides.
Sally didn’t say the penis was too small, she said she didn’t feel anything in HBO’s Sally4Ever trailer. The series created by executive producer Julia Davis, who wrote, directed and stars in every episode. Davis created Britain’s Camping series, which Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are adapting for American audiences at HBO.
“The story of a love affair that quickly spirals out of control, Sally4Ever explores love and sex in today’s confused, obsessive and gender-fluid world,” according to the official synopsis. The series follows “Sally (Catherine Shepherd), who is about to marry David (Alex Macqueen), her nebbish boyfriend of ten years, when she encounters the charismatic Emma (Julia Davis). The two fall into a romantic relationship, but what starts out as an exciting and sexy fling takes an unexpected turn when Emma reveals herself to be an absolute nightmare.”
The series also stars Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh, Mindhorn, ABCs of Death 2), Mark Gatiss (Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones), Sean Bean (Sean Bean!), Joanna Scanlan, Felicity Montague.
